Doctoral study as the third degree of higher education focuses on getting current knowledge and on student´s own contribution to it as a result of research in the area of economics.
In the full-time form it lasts three years and in the part-time form five years. The aim of the doctoral study is to prepare students for independent creative research. They acquire comprehensive theoretical knowledge and learn the methodology of research work. In this way they gain the highest degree of university education in the respective field of study.
The study is completed by a dissertation exam, which belongs to state exams, and by defending a doctoral thesis.
On completion of the study, the degree "Doctor of Philosophy" (PhD) is conferred on the students by the Faculty.
